Having sketched from a young age, Helen always had a love of the drawn line and of shape, form and pattern. An education in art, design, textiles and stage cemented this, and you will find there is always a strong linear presence in her work. Her love of nature also inspires her observations as does her sense of drama and humour.
A diverse designer and illustrator she has a diverse focus and an eclectic portfolio. Working in acrylics, watercolour, ink, graphite and colour pencil as well as with mixed media techniques incorporating collage and textural tyvek. Her work is both decorative and amusing, with quirky animal and people portraits, rich layered mixed media landscapes, and intuitive and expressive illustrations of everyday observations. Never a dull moment, just like her life.
She now works as a designer, illustrator and creative facilitator and her clients include: Liverpool John Moores University, Wirral Festival of Firsts, West Kirby Farmers Market, Wirral Open Studio Tour and Merseycare NHS Trust amongst others. In addition she has spent the last 2 1/2 years building a personal portfolio, has had two solo exhibitions, contributed to the Festival of Firsts and the Wirral Open Studio Tour and is a member of With These Hands, the Two Rivers Art Group and the Deeside Art Group.
She has exhibited at the De Junk Re Junk Exhibition at the Williamson, at the Momentary Art Project in New Brighton, at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, the Liverpool Art Fair, the Rotary Annual Art Exhibition and in Art at the Coach House in Royden Park.
