From an early age Elaine has had a keen interest in nature which strongly influences her work. Memories of childhood holidays on farms and by the sea have long been an inspiration to her. Elaine now lives in a cottage backing onto a nature reserve not far from the sea giving her endless ideas for artwork.
She studied art and design, graphic design and specialised in illustration. She has produced a wide variety of work ranging from book illustration and greetings cards to making relief bathroom tiles.
Elaine’s work has a clean and whimsical feel, her local scenes feature wildlife as the main focus capturing a sense of fun and character. Most recently she has been working on decorative mixed media pieces incorporating different textures, light reflective materials and relief.
Elaine has sold her work nationally and internationally to such clients as Fortnum and Mason, Selfridges, John Lewis Partnership and Klutz as well as many other shops and galleries.
Always carrying a sketch book with her Elaine likes to scribble down any notes and make sketches of anything that inspires her developing these ideas back at her studio into roughs and then artwork.
