More Information…

You may have visited the studios in previous years or know other artists who have hosted visitors, but essentially Wirral Open Studios enables artists to have the opportunity to show and sell their work and engage with buyers, viewers and the community in a direct, but informal setting.

Visitors have a unique opportunity to see art displayed on site, view work in progress, meet the artists and learn about their medium and processes.

The Wirral Open Studio Tour encourages artists from across the whole of Wirral to open their studios/creative spaces. Artists who do not have their own studio or suitable space to invite visitors can also take part by sharing with another artist.

As in previous years, the tour will be promoted widely across the whole of Wirral. The public will be provided with a printed (and digital) pamphlet/map showing all artists’ workspaces across Wirral, and visitors create their own self-tour over the two days.

In addition to this ‘blanket’ publicity, it will also be the responsibility of individual artists to generate interest in their own studio and distribute pamphlets, flyers, etc several weeks before the event. Previous years have shown that artists received greater numbers of visitors when there were several studios open within a half mile/mile area and we would therefore encourage artists to group together or share studios to create a ‘hub’ (the organisers will help to link neighbouring artists).

The participation fee is £48.00*. This covers the cost of advertising materials and will also entitle an artist to a year’s entry in the ‘Artists’ section of this website.
